1961 Chevrolet Impala
Chevrolet unbelievingly has top-billed the sales in automobiles all over America.
Too overwhelmed by the popularity, prestige, and success; Chevrolet Impala designers
and engineers decided to fine tune their performance and luxurious image by offering
a new package--the sports package in its Chevrolet Impala SS. Now, this is the
year wherein a first true muscle car was introduced. In its intention of outperforming
Ford's 390 cid engine, Chevrolet introduced its very own 409 cubic inch V8 which
lasted number one till 1970s in the dragstrip.

The Super Sport package defined Chevy Impala's performance for a number of years.
Chevy Impala SS boasts of a special body and fine interior trim, power steering,
power brakes with metallic linings, full wheel covers with three blade spinner,
passenger grab bar, a console for the floor shift, and a tachometer on the steering
column. Amazing and cool features, aren't they? All of these are embodied in the
1961 Chevrolet Impala. A wise move for Chevrolet. Sure enough, it didn't satisfy
itself with merely selling millions of Impalas. It proved itself as the creator
of a performance car which is a sure winner in the race.
